Early Career and Lightbulb Moment
Jake’s journey took a surprising turn in the summer of 2015. He and his brother-in-law, Nunzio, were headed to a Yankees game, just two guys talking about life and work during the drive. Jake was in medical sales at the time, but something felt off. The work didn’t inspire him.
As they talked, memories of his college job with a junk removal company bubbled up. It wasn’t glamorous, but there was something he loved about it—working with his hands, solving problems, and getting the job done. That conversation was the spark. Jake realized he didn’t just want a job; he wanted to build something meaningful, something he could be passionate about. The idea of creating his own junk removal business started to take shape.
Founding Junk Rescue
In 2016, Jake and Nunzio turned that idea into reality. They co-founded Junk Rescue and took their first steps into the junk removal business. It wasn’t glamorous at the start. Their headquarters? Jake’s bedroom. Their warehouse? His parents’ shed. And their fleet? Just one truck, parked right on the street. They started small—really small—but Jake was all in. Day by day, he poured everything into the business. It wasn’t just about hauling junk, but building something from the ground up. Through hard work and a lot of long days, Junk Rescue began to grow into the successful business it is today, known for both its quality service and putting the community first.
Business Growth & Vision
Under Jake’s leadership, Junk Rescue has expanded rapidly. The company now operates with a fleet of 15 trucks and a dedicated team of 30 employees. What sets Jake apart is his belief in putting people before profits. He focuses on empowering his employees and giving them the tools to grow both personally and professionally. This commitment to his team and customers has helped Junk Rescue provide exceptional service and build lasting bonds with clients.
Leadership & Values
For Jake, grit and resilience are essential qualities in both life and business. These qualities have helped him overcome challenges and grow Junk Rescue into what it is today – a well-known brand that people in New Jersey and Pennsylvania call in to keep their lives clutter-free. He’s also deeply committed to running an eco-friendly company that gives back – as recycling and donating items are priorities for Junk Rescue. At his core, Jake values continuous learning, leadership, and integrity, and these principles guide every decision he makes.
Future Ambitions
Looking ahead, Jake has big plans for Junk Rescue. By 2025, he envisions expanding the company nationwide. His strategy? Leverage technology, innovation, and a focus on recruiting top talent. Jake’s goal is to build a company that not only grows in size but also creates lasting opportunities for employees and continues to deliver superhuman client experiences.
